Ravenna June Hoover, 80, of Maugansville, Md., passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Charlotte’s Home II in Maugansville.

Born Monday, June 26, 1933, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edgar Sponseller and the late Helen G. (Trumpower) Sponseller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Stanley T. Hoover, in 2010. She was a past member of the Potomac Edison Forerunners Club with her husband.

She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1951, and was employed at Rosen’s, and later with Dr. George Jennings and at Fairchild Aircraft. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the 1951 Reunion Committee for Hagerstown High School. Ravenna was an avid cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl J. Wolfensberger and husband, Steven, of Hagerstown; sister, Marian Burgess of Palm Desert, Calif.; stepsister, Katherine P. Hopkins of Texas; granddaughter, Tara Myers and husband, Phillip; grandson, Corey Wolfensberger and wife, Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Landon Myers, and Gracyn Wolfensberger.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sponseller.

Services will be held privately. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
