Jean Ann Douty Oberholzer, 78 of Hagerstown, MD passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center. 

Born April 28, 1937 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Hannah Willetts Douty. Jean was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Funkstown, MD, American Legion Auxiliary Post 211, Elks Auxiliary 378, Potomac Edison Forerunners, and Hagerstown High Class of 1955 Reunion Committee. 

Jean is survived by one daughter, Brenda Oberholzer of Hagerstown, MD; one son, Brian Oberholzer and wife Tara of Hagerstown, MD; seven grandchildren, Miranda, Megan and Mike, Lindsay and Jon, Sierra, and Brianna; one sister, Jane and husband Richard Lirette of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Pete and wife Laurel Douty of Pensacola, FL; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Oberholzer of North Beach, MD and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald Lee Oberholzer in 2012. 

Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 24 E. Baltimore St., Funkstown, MD. The Rev. Ron Reaves, Pastor Darrell Layman and Pastor Gary Zook will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 30, from 6-8 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, MD. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742. 

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff at Meritus Medical Center, especially to those of 4 South, where she spent her final days, for their excellent care and compassion, and to Hospice of Washington County.
