Robert Sherwood Stone, 91, Middletown, died Saturday, July 11, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Betty Wastler Stone. They were married for 59 1/2 years
Born in Frederick on February 24, 1924 he was a son of the late Harry G. and Carrie Brandenburg Stone. He was employed as an accountant with the Potomac Edison Co., Frederick, until his retirement.
He was a member of Locust Valley Bible Church, Middletown; Potomac Edison Forerunners; Valley Young at Heart Exercise Group and a blood donor. He was a US Army veteran and also served with the National Guard Medical Co. for a number of years.
Surviving, besides his wife, are: 3 daughters – Diane and Earl Gill – Newnam, GA; Denise and Dr. Verna Nellsch – Livingston, TX; Mary and Michael Pasquerette – Sharpsburg 7 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren He was predeceased by by siblings: George H. Stone, Mildred C. Smith, Raymond L. Stone, Chester C. Stone, Elsie M. Peterson
The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 14 from 6 to 8 PM at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM on Wednesday July 15 from the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Curvin D. Stambaugh will officiate. Interment will be made in Christ Reformed Church Cemetery, Middletown.
