Robert Franklin Deadrick, 89, of Fountain Hills, AZ, and formerly of Hagerstown, MD, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 25, 1925, in Petersburg, WV, he was the son of the late Wilson C. and Nellie R. (Smith) Deadrick.

After graduating from Petersburg High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged after serving as an aviation radioman second class. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from West Virginia University in 1950, and then began his 36-year career as an executive with Potomac Edison, retiring in 1986. He was also a member of the Potomac Edison Forerunners Club.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet E. (Rohrbaugh) Deadrick.

He is survived by his son, Robert B. Deadrick and wife, Debbie, of Fountain Hills, AZ; his son, Douglas S. Deadrick and wife, Robin, of Salem, NH; three grandchildren, Wendy Curran and husband, Michael, Chris Deadrick and Drew Deadrick; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Faith Curran, all of Mesa, AZ.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Fleming and LeeAnna Deadrick; and two brothers, George and Frank Deadrick.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Boyd and husband, Gene, of Houston, TX.

He was a member of BPOE, and a Scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was also a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
