
John Wayne Lancaster, 86, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born October 30, 1932, he was the son of the late William Frank Lancaster and Nan (Rissler) Lancaster.
Wayne was a Sergeant in the Korean War serving 2 years in the US Army. He retired as a Division Manager from Potomac Edison after 44 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Freemasons, WV Volunteer Economical Developer of the year in 1986, Chairman of City Hospital Board of Trustees in 2005, President of Berkeley Development Authority, member of WVU Hospital Board and Chairman, President of Martinsburg Board of Directors Chamber of Commerce, President of Martinsburg Rotary Club, and a member of various Otterbein Church Organizations, he was on the Martinsburg City Police Board, Chairman of the Board of Farmers and Mechanics Insurance Company and board member of Farmers and Merchants Bank.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Maddox) Lancaster; two sons, Kyle Lancaster and wife, Laurie, and Kevin Lancaster and wife, Lori; five grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Brett, Milan and Peyton Lancaster; and two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Scott Johnson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Frank Lancaster II.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Patricia Sebring officiating. Interment will be in Edgehill Cemetery Charlestown, WV.
