Joan Taylor McCauley, 81, of 16505 Virginia Ave. in Williamsport, Md., died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Homewood at Williamsport.

Born Sept. 24, 1930, in Petersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Esmond Franklin Taylor and Lois Gertrude Keller Taylor.

Joan was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Williamsport for 40 years, where she served as treasurer and was involved with many activities throughout the years.

Her love of music was evident, as she sang in the choir, played the organ, accompanied choir members and participated in any musical activity that she could. She usually tried to attend music events in the area, especially the Sophisti’Cats of Williamsport High School. She was a member of the Potomac Edison Forerunners Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene W. McCauley Sr.

She is survived by one son, John W. McCauley and wife, Jenny, of Virginia; two daughters, Patricia L. Roberts of Virginia, and Lois L. Murray and husband, Joe, of Florida; two stepsons, Eugene W. (Gene) McCauley Jr. and wife, Nadine (Debbie), of Hagerstown, and James H. (Jim) McCauley and wife, Carol, of Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport. The Revs. Dr. Norman G. Price and Mark Sandell will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. She is a member of the Potomac Edison Forerunners Club.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
