Clara Rosalie (Holshey) Hollinger, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home after an extended illness.

Born Jan. 16, 1938, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Lillian (Rowe) Holshey.

She was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary High School in Cumberland, and went on to attend Potomac State College in Keyser, W.Va.

Prior to her illness, she was active in her church at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and had also volunteered with the Frederick, Md., Red Cross. Rosalie remained active in the PEforerunners Club.

She is survived by her husband, Dale W. Hollinger, whom she married May 29, 1965. In addition, she is survived by several cousins; a sister-in-law, Lois Hollinger of Mount Wolf, Pa.; two nephews; a niece; six great-nephews; and one great-niece.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edward F. Hollinger Sr.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 30, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Christopher Moore officiating. Inurnment will be private and held in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel,
1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown

Dale would like to thank Rosalie’s long-time caregivers, Arlene G. Horst and Virginia Hampton, for their love, care and compassion, and also to the ICU units of Meritus Medical Center as well as Ashley and the fifth floor crew, for their excellent care and concern during Rosalie’s final weeks.
